Connie Grantham

Mrs. Connie Grantham is a University of South Carolina graduate with a Bachelor of Music Education Degree and an Associate Degree in Business. Mrs. Grantham is a National Board Certified Teacher in Music Education and enjoys serving as an adjudicator, clinician, and consultant. Mrs. Grantham serves as the Executive Secretary/Treasurer of the South Carolina Band Directors Association. She is the co-conductor of the Catawba River Winds, a community band located in Fort Mill, SC. Catawba River Winds provides performance opportunities to adult musicians from the upstate of South Carolina and the Charlotte Mecklenburg area of North Carolina.

Bands under Mrs. Grantham’s direction have received numerous superior ratings at state and regional concert festivals, performed at the SCMEA In-service Conference, and received the SDBDA Outstanding Performance Award thirty times. Mrs. Grantham has also been honored by receiving the National Band Association’s “Citation of Excellence”, and the Women’s Band Director International’s “Scroll of Excellence”. Mrs. Grantham was inducted into the South Carolina Band Directors Association Hall of Fame in 2016.

Her professional affiliations include the National Association for Music Education (NAfME), the South Carolina Music Educators Association, the South Carolina Band Directors Association, the National Band Association, Phi Beta Mu International Music Fraternity, the Women Band Directors International, and the American School Band Directors Association (ASBDA).

Mrs. Grantham and her husband, Randy (retired band director from Rock Hill High School, SC, and member of PBM Theta Chapter), reside in Rock Hill, SC. They have two adult children, Will and Dottie (son-in-law, Andrew). They also have the sweetest Beagle, Dori.
